Patrick is a molecular/ cellular biologist at Queensland University of Technology within the Translational Research Institute. Patricks research focuses on the characterisation and pre-clinical targeting of the larger, non-coding portion of RNA within the human genome and what role they play in tumour progression. Patrick aims to target this “dark matter” to promote beneficial outcomes in cancer patients, as well as elucidate the wider role that the peptide "hunger" hormone ghrelin plays in cancer growth, progression and metabolic syndrome. He is a proud 6-year supporter of Movember, a campaign for men's health (http://mobro.co/stacheofthomas)
